Cloudy Today Privacy Policy

CloudyToday ("the App") values your privacy and complies with applicable laws. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

1. Information We Collect and Why

Cloud photos submitted for AI analysis	Photos you submit for analysis are temporarily sent through our server to an AI analysis service (OpenRouter, an overseas provider) to classify the cloud type and generate a name/description. Anonymous device identifier	A randomly generated value created locally on your device when you install the app, used to provide the service without requiring sign-up. It is not linked to any personally identifying information such as your name, phone number, or email. It is sent to our server for AI usage rate-limiting, creating/deleting map posts, and submitting feedback.	-

The App does not require sign-up or login. It generates and uses an anonymous identifier locally on your device, and does not ask for personally identifying information such as your name, phone number, or email address.

2. Storage and Retention

Cloud diary entries, photos, and tags you create are stored locally on your device by default and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
When you post to the Neighborhood Sky Map, the cloud type (badge name), a randomly assigned cloud emoji, and your neighborhood-level place name (district/city) are stored on our server and made visible to other users in the same area. Posts never include your photo, diary text, or exact coordinates. Posts are automatically deleted from our server 24 hours after posting, and you may also delete them yourself at any time.
Messages and optional contact information you voluntarily submit through the Feedback feature are sent to and stored on our server for the purpose of improving the service.
Cloud photos are routed through our server to an external AI analysis service during analysis, but are deleted from our server immediately after processing and are not retained separately.
Precise location coordinates are used only momentarily for weather lookups, scheduling notifications, and posting to the map; the coordinates themselves are never stored on our server.

3. Sharing With Third Parties

The App does not share your personal information with third parties without your consent, except as required by law. The following occur only to the extent necessary to provide the service:

AI analysis service (OpenRouter and its underlying AI model providers): Cloud photos you submit for analysis are sent for the purpose of classifying the cloud type and generating a description. They are not used for any other purpose, and are not retained on our server.
Neighborhood Sky Map: As described above, the cloud type, randomly assigned emoji, and neighborhood-level place name are made visible to other users of the service.
Location coordinates (latitude/longitude) are sent to a weather data provider (Open-Meteo) to look up weather information, but are not separately stored.

4. Deletion of Personal Information

You may delete your saved cloud records and map posts directly within the App at any time; deletion takes effect immediately.
Map posts are automatically deleted from our server 24 hours after posting, even if you do not delete them yourself.
Uninstalling the App deletes all records stored locally on your device.
